About
Celina Barajas is an Animator/Illustrator living in Chicago. She studied Traditional Animation at Columbia College Chicago and has worked on over 48 animated television commercials as a clean-up animator/digital ink & painter with Calabash Animation Studio (Trix Cereal, Trix Yogurt, Lucky Charms, Cocoa Puffs, General Mills, Harris Bank, and the MasterCard Icons commercial which aired in the 2005 Superbowl, etc). She joined the Comic Con scene back in 2013 (C2E2, NWI CC, Chicago Zine Fest, Pocket Con, Cincinnati Comic Expo, LatinX Comix Chicago, Indiana Comic Con) and has been working on her own art and comics ever since. Her love of coffee and animals is evident in her work, which has been described as happy and playful. Her first self-published comic, "Color Me Whimsy", premiered at Chicago Zine Fest in 2016 is considered a reflection of her bubbly and whimsical personality. In addition, she is part of the Let's Make Comics group and has participated in 6 of their collective anthologies: "Forgotten History", "Out of the Deep" "That Makes Me Sad", "Tasty", "High Brow" and "Lost in the Weeds". Her 2nd self-published comic, "Color Me Whimsy II" will come out Spring 2025.
